Coralej
Coralej isn't the biggest fan of relying on droids, but given that this landing was still better than the last time he was in a cockpit, "Probably a better pilot than me at least." He deliberately chooses to ignore the tremor.

Re: IC Rise of the Grand Admiral - Episode I - Finishing the Fight
One of the clones starts responding to you in Basic.
"It's only our second mission, and the first one was a simple escort run," the clone says, "we've never seen anything outside of Kamino. It's definitely different from what I'm used to. I'm CT-0027 by the way."
You learn that this particular clone has some training as a slicer, and that's where he picked up Binary, though obviously he cannot speak it.TC for short

Re: IC Rise of the Grand Admiral - Episode I - Finishing the Fight
SpoilerMoving forward now, we can continue RP in spoilers if you are interested.
Niral 3 - Abandoned Communications Relay Station
The ground slopes upwards, though the underbrush thins which actually makes travel easier. Eventually you arrive at a large clearing at the top of a rise. While several craggy mountain peaks tower above you to the north, this peak, if it could even be called a peak, is still covered in grass. At the center of the cleared area, there is a walled compound. Even from this distance, it is clear the wall has been breached, and as you approach on foot, you notice the residue of combat: spent casings, bacta patch wrappers, damaged weapons or communicators, pockmarks in the ground, destroyed droids. The walls are covered in carbon scoring. Wary of Separatist remnants, you follow the Jedi, who has his lightsaber out but not ignited, and creep forward, but it seems that the station truly is abandoned. A quick sweep of the grounds reveals nothing but damaged walls and some exposed data or power lines, as well as the husks of dozens of battle droids, likely having fallen defending the station to cover the retreat of those that fled.
The large dish above the communication relay appears intact, even if it looks like there was a fire at the actual relay station.
"If we can get this place up and running, it should allow us to burn through any jamming and call for pickup," Sadaki said, "we'll split the engineering team, half of them will continue with me on to the command bunker, and the rest will work on fixing this place up. You four, stay with them."
"Yes sir," four of the clones, among them CT-0027, say as they step forward and salute.
"Coralej, you're in charge, get this place going, and if you have time, see if you can find any old communication logs," Sadaki says.
With that, he heads back off into the woods, taking the bulk of the unit with him.
Three engineers remain, along with four clones and yourselves.
A quick survey of the grounds indicate the following areas you can explore:

Inner Courtyard (current location)
Power Station
Maintenance
Comms Relay Security Zone

Ilyene
Ilyene looks at the debris, by the looks of it, the fighting had been nasty. She was also holding the hilt of her saber, but has followed the commanders example by not igniting it.
As the Jedi wanted to split them up, Ilyene wanted to object, but she held her tongue. She did not have the greatest understanding of tactics, or the actual mission, and arguing at this point would do no good.
She stared at the blackened walls, picturing the fire fight that had been in her mind, and the she felt it. They were not alone. Something was waiting for them. Unsure if it was her mind playing with her or the force telling her, the carefully glances around.
“Let’s…” she pauses a bit. “Let’s make sure this place is as empty as it seems first.” She fought the urge to activate the blade, her left thumb nervously fiddling on the back of the hilt, as she waits for Coralej to decision.

Re: IC Rise of the Grand Admiral - Episode I - Finishing the Fight
You pick your way around the wreckage to a nearby computer station, set against the Power Station wall. The computer station has a cracked screen, but other than that appears more or less intact. There is no power, and you cannot see any lights on anywhere or hear any powered mechanics anywhere... it appears the power station is disabled or damaged somehow.
Edit: The power station itself is a grey stand-alone blocky two-story duracrete structure about a hundred feet long by sixty feet wide. A small fenced in area next to it holds some kind of energy equipment, transformers or capacitors or something. Whatever they are, they are planted into the ground, and connected with heavy crisscrossing wires. Danger signs warning individuals to keep out are posted all around the area. There are only a few windows to the power station, little more than slots placed high up on the duracrete walls, most likely for ventilation. There is only a single, metal door which hangs off one hinge, and it opens into darkness within.Last edited by Thundercracker; 2023-03-09 at 02:41 AM.

in basic and binary
Well there is definitely a lack of power issue. We have a couple options we can all attempt to reach the power building and figure out the issues it has, or have a couple of us go there and a couple of us head for the comms array and dish to check that area.

Coralej
When Coralej opens his eyes he's just a little more relaxed, if the force says it'll work out then who's he to argue, he does his best to take command as ordered, "We should be safe to split up, at least for now. I expect R4-X1 can handle any repairs on the power station, probably best if CT-0027 goes there too, since he can actually undestand Binary. Cora seems to know a bit about computers and you" he indicates the as yet unnamed clone mechanic (0476) "Can probably manage repairs, so you'll be dealing with the Comm Relay. Illyene, you should stay with R4 and CR-0027 in case anything happens. The rest of us will go with Cora to the Relay and security zone. Finally, I'd like to know your names please, noone actually informed me." he indicates the clones Anyone got any suggestions or objections?"Last edited by Thunder999; 2023-03-10 at 11:41 AM.

Re: IC Rise of the Grand Admiral - Episode I - Finishing the Fight
The three engineers speak up: “where should we go?”
476 responds when addressed: “sir, we’re fresh from kamino, we’ve tossed around names but haven’t really settled on anything yet.”
Spoilerthe way the four clones will work is as you interact with them, give them names and learn about their personality etc, they will gain initiative and take training etc to gain benefits that will help the team.
This will have dual effects of helping you achieve more (ie secondary or hidden objectives resulting in more rewards), and let them keep up and remain useful as you advance.Last edited by Thundercracker; 2023-03-10 at 08:58 PM.

Ilyene
Ilyene responds "Will do." at the orders given, still unable to shake the feeling of being observed, as if something was just resting, and biding its time. Loira would have known how to calm her down, but she is not here, nor will she ever be again.
"One of you with me, the other two with Coralej." She tells the technicians, nodding at one of them to indicate that they should follow her.
As the two teams split up, Ilyene starts speaking with the clone. "CT-RH-0027, that's a bit of a mouthful, isn't it?" It dawned on her as she spoke that the numbers were quite similar to how droids were named. An efficient way to dehumanize them, an easy way to for them forget they were sending living beings out to fight and die for for their cause. Make the war less bloody. She glanced on the numbers again, trying to form a word from them. "Mind if I call you Odi for short?"
She throws a glance to ensure that R4 and the technician is with them.

Re: IC Rise of the Grand Admiral - Episode I - Finishing the Fight
The grounds are not very large, and when outside you're almost within shouting distance. You discover that due to the jamming field, comlinks only function over very short distances, less than 1km as Sadaki and the rest of the recovery force are already out of range.
The party splits up as follows:
Power Station - Power station: Ax, CT-0027 "Odi", Ilyene, 1 engineer.
You crack the door open, and let light flood the interior. It takes a moment for your eyes / sensors to adjust to the change in light levels. It is not pitch black inside, as there are small windows near the top of the structure, but it is difficult to make out details at first. There appears to have been a firefight inside the power station as well as blaster marks scorch the control panels and some of them are partially melted. The remains of the operators, mostly B1 series droids, lie scattered and broken on the floor. The power reactor, a blocky, duracrete reinforced structure that takes up the entire floor to ceiling, dominates the rear quarter of the building. Three rows of control panels line the floor between the door and the reactor, along with a few overturned chairs. A second door to your left leads out into the fenced-in yard you saw previously. All of the equipment is currently inert.
Comm Station Security Zone - Cora, Coralej, 3 clones, 2 engineers
The massive dish, the main feature of the relay station, rises up and blocks out the mountain in front of you. Before you can reach the dish itself though, there is an area walled off by a duracrete structure, about eight feet high all around. The secure area itself is about fifty feet across between the inner courtyard and the small building that sits at the bottom of the dish. The wall looks like it was vigorously defended, as pockmarks and blaster scoring and larger explosives have pitted the once smooth structure. A sign reading 'authorized personnel only' is attached to a metal door which lies in two pieces on the ground just inside the secure area. What little you can see through the doorway is a mess of droid parts and cratered ground, with the open entrance to the comm station at the far end.Last edited by Thundercracker; 2023-03-14 at 12:52 AM.

Ilyene exhales as she enters, bit twitchy with her grip on her hilt. As her eyes adjust to the darkness and as she takes in the devastation she is not exactly filled with hope. "Let's get this place up and running." She suggests, hoping that her team knows a lot more about this than she does.
"Team, uhm, Core, this is team, uhm..." She look around, seeing Ax "... Droid. The station looks pretty banged up. Will give you an update once I know more. Over and out." She calls over her short-range comlink.

Security Zone
Cora / Coralej: As you pick your way across the cratered security zone, avoiding the deepest craters as best you can, about halfway across, you hear a barely audible click as Cora steps with her right leg. It appears the security zone is mined.
Power Station
Odi, Ax, Ilyene, and the engineer assess the power station. There appears to be enough fuel in the reactor to get it running for a few days, but some of the power cables from the station to the comm tower have been damaged and need to be replaced. You’ll also need to manually prime the reactor to get the chain reaction started, until it becomes self sustaining.
Spoilerit’s an extended test to get the reactor going, 10 minute intervals. Rather than successes, you need a total of 100 points to succeed.Last edited by Thundercracker; 2023-03-17 at 08:43 PM.

Re: IC Rise of the Grand Admiral - Episode I - Finishing the Fight
Power Station - Ax, CT-0027 "Odi", Ilyene, 1 engineer.
You get to work fixing up the power station and ensuring the base lines are laid correctly. Odi has apparently recently studied the operating system and has it calibrated and ready to go in record time. The only thing that's left is to manually crank the ignition starter.
Spoilersome very good rolls by the NPCs, you have 15 points left to get the reactor going, which the engineer can do by himself if you want to do something else with your time.
Security Zone: Cora, Coralej, 3 clones, 2 engineers
The two engineers do their best to follow your path as they pick their way over to where the landmine has been discovered. They kneel down and get to work. One of them nearly blows the thing up in your faces but you're saved by the other, who stops him from making a catastrophic error. Eventually the mine is disarmed by jamming the pressure plate and not allowing it to explode.
"It should be safe. Don't step on it again though," one of the engineers says as they slowly back away.
You're about halfway to the door at the far side of the courtyard, with an unknown number of mines between here and there.
SpoilerThe mine is disarmed, feel free to rp removing your foot from it if you wish. If anyone has any scanning equipment, you might be able to use it to search for additional mines. If not, you could scrounge the base and perhaps find something, or figure out an alternative method of crossing the security zone.TC for short

"This particular model has about a five-foot blast radius," one of the engineers says. You're not able see where the next mine might be, or if there even are any more. As such, it's impossible to discern a pattern from the one you did find.
