I finally got an appointment for my consultation for top affirmation surgery (in my case radical reduction). It's in March 2025. There should be a couple appointment then the surgery date will be planned. It's not in my region because the public service that did affirmation surgeries is closing, but I was able to get on the wait list for another region and with it being France, it's only a few hours away.

Thinks aren't great here. Nothing as bad as what seems to be happening in the UK but two famous transphobes released a book that is basically a porn fanfic describing transwomen are men getting around by women's clothes and by taking away women's rights. The backlash was taken by them as attempt at censoring women (while they're appearing everywhere on TV and on the radio, which trans and enby people are not).

Anyway, I'm hoping this doesn't lead to more gatekeeping and hatred but I can't help but wonder how closely tied the increasing moral panic and transphobia is linked with the public hospital not getting the funds and doctors to keep operating in my region. Note that they've only closed their services for adults so they're still supporting minors and giving them affirmative health care which is a relief as they seem to be targetted the most by what's been happening.

In other news, I've been seeing a speech therapist for 6 months and it's going extremely well. I'm probably going to start taking hormones in June, I've got my third appointment with my endocrinologist then (first was in October and second in April) and it should be good to go.

Lots of love and support to everyone here <3
