Wiping some blood from his forehead Connor got quiet during the waiting period. He took out his notebook and made some sketches, wrote down some things just to take his mind off of the wait.

When the ball of corpses hit, he stood up and looked at it. He was still quite lost in thought, and even though he might have known something could be up, the unnatural pattern of remains caught his gaze and he was staring into it like some people could do when they were looking at a fire.

It was only when the actual fire Aupti hurled at the moving bodyparts hit the splatted jumble of limbs that Connor snapped out of it.

He ran a bit closer to the pile and pulled out a simple wooden flute, started playing a peculiar tune harnessing magic. Readying it to blast whatever would come out of that ungodly pile.

Readied action: Thunderwave

A wave of thunderous force sweeps out from you. Each creature in a 15-foot cube originating from you must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 2d8 thunder damage and is pushed 10 feet away from you. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage and isn't pushed.

In addition, unsecured objects that are completely within the area of effect are automatically pushed 10 feet away from you by the spell's effect, and the spell emits a thunderous boom audible out to 300 feet.
