Successor of Tiamat shifts the focus of an ordinary campaign of heroes and adventuring toward one focused on innately powerful characters who juggle family dynamics, politics, and greed. Influenced by media such as Shakespeare’s The Tempest, movies such as The Godfather, and television series such as Succession, this campaign allows players an experience filled with political maneuvering, backstabbing, secret alliances, and hidden motives.

PCs are young chromatic dragons, children of the evil dragon goddess Tiamat. They each grew up on their own without much (or any) parental interaction with her. Without warning, the PC-dragons have been announced as the new underbosses in their mother’s spice corporation called Termagant. Each has been placed in charge of a different division in the company and have seats on the company’s board of directors.

The players will spend much of their time reporting and scheming at board meetings as a multitude of obstacles and enemies interrupt the efficiency and possibly the very existence of the company. It is likely that granular aspects of the game such as meals and purchasing ordinary items can be summarized or even hand-waved entirely since the players are acting on a grander scale of the multiverse. The DM might decide to skip whole months between baord meetings when there aren’t significant events. Much of the emphasis is likely to be placed on role-playng, although there are plenty of opportunities for players to explore many locations around the multiverse or engage in combat, including some of the most dangerous places and deadly monsters in existence.
