It's in the tunnel entrance, which is at the top of a steep slope peppered with rocks from when the tunnel burst open. You can climb the rocks on the West side of the slope, or you can carefully walk up the East side.

It will take about three turns of human movement to get there by walking. A good athletics or acrobatics check can speed up the process. Charles was already described as floating above the fray, so he's already positioned halfway up and could float to the top unimpeded if you so desire.
