I figured as a police officer Roland’s had previous experience talking to people who are in shock or otherwise just got out of a bad situation, so having him try to talk the new person out of the panic attack was the logical thing to do.

I gotta ask, who is this directed at? I know there was a Zorua in the anime that could 'talk' to humans, so I don't want to make assumptions.
