You heave in a few steading breathes, shoulder Leonardo, and fire. The report is satisfying, and the shot is good; it rakes down the line of goblins and wolves. Now you're sure you got the leader - with a squawk he topples of his saddle, as his confederates are peppered and pierced. Such a shot would not be advisable into melee most often; but the ogres have held the line like the Bella Collinans did against the pirates, and the effect is devastating.

The bowmen fire, Bella adds a bolt to the careful volley, and Briant thunders in, slashing with his sword to one side while Clemence tramples a goblin toppled from his mount. The greenskins and their wolves fight back, of course; brutally, wildly, in denial of the moment. Giorno, Bruk, and Tiny all suffer maulings and slashes; most to the legs, while one of the wolves leaps high and chomps on to Bruk's head. The ogre shouts in pain, but his skull is in no danger of collapse; and he drops one club to fumble at the creature's jaws as it chews on his scalp. Giorno chops down with his greatswords and splits one goblin clean in the saddle and carves the wolf beneath, bellowing something in his native Grumbarth. All the efforts of the allies warriors combine, and add to yours; three of the goblins have fallen dead, and almost all the others and the lupine mounts are badly wounded. You can see the greenskins, who charged in as light cavalry do hoping to engage and scatter enemy archers, recognize their position and begin to panic. They are certain now to break, and run.

You're up! They're presently in melee; you could draw your pistols and shoot at them next turn, start reloading, or whatever you think is best. This has gone very well for the defenders, I think. They were outclassed of course, but no wild Fury's or anything to take a toll.
