The slithering monsters continue their assault, even in the face of the spread flames. Though the impact clearly burns them, the plantlife seems relatively unperturbed by the scorching fire and press on into the camp. As they get closer, they fling their vines forward, aiming to ensnare Polina, Rax, and Jorr - their closest foes. The practiced goliath manages to twist away even on the ground, but the drake and your huntsman are less lucky and quickly find themselves bound by constricting vines. Made worse is that the vines appear coated in some thick poisonous substance, one that immediately seeps into Rax's scales, sapping the life from it.

Paul hits with two of his scorching rays (top and bottom)
Leif also hits with two (top and middle). She can't move 15ft west due to difficult terrain, she gets 5ft instead, after the 15ft spent on standing up from prone.

The creatures seem resistant to fire damage, despite being plants. Didn't think they were but then I reread the statblock.

One attacks Polina, and misses.
One attacks Rax, and hits (despite Prone disadvantage). It takes 14 bludgeoning damage and is Grappled (DC14 athletics/acrobatics to escape). Then at the start of its turn, it takes a further 30 poison damage (unfortunately, a high roll - 3, 3, 6, 6, 6, and 6 on 6d6).
One attacks Jorr, and hits. He takes 11 bludgeoning damage and is Grappled/Restrained (DC14 athletics/acrobatics to escape), and - assuming someone doesn't free him with their own action (that'd be Athletics-only rather than Acrobatics) - will also take poison damage (of the 6d6 variety) at the start of his turn.

Everyone's up.
