Re: (IC IV) San Francisco by Night: A Requiem in Fog
Anna pulls into the parking lot of the mall where she intends to pick up a drone, and then stops by the haven (as suggested), to pick up extra kevlar vests and ammo and things like that.

"Yeah, no problem, just don't forget our deal," Greenlief replies flatly. He mumbles something about having a good night, then cuts the line. Moments later Rachel gets a pulse message with the requested contact information on the Gangrel named Amon.

Re: (IC IV) San Francisco by Night: A Requiem in Fog
Rachel wondered how busy she was likely to be if she survived this. Before calling Amon she'll try reaching out to a few people to see if anyone had any idea where Amon kept his haven. It would be nice to have some actual leverage if she needed it.

Re: (IC IV) San Francisco by Night: A Requiem in Fog
Anna spends about 20 minutes driving around the city, checking in at shopping malls (the nearest was already locking up), and local electronics shops. But impatience grew quickly as she could feel the clock ticking; she still needed to get to her haven, before heading back to the Opera House. Feeling the Beast growling in the back of her throat, Anna was forced to give up the hunt and move on with her plans.
She arrives to find Karl finishing up his survey of the grounds.

Spoiler: OOCWith Int Politics I would say this is less likely a calling around roll and more an attempt based on Rachel's knowledge of territory and politics within SF; otherwise there would likely be something social to the roll. That said, I won't penalize you and will give you the following
Rachel knows that while The Carthians and the Spear were fighting over parts of the Mission district, most did not live in the "war zone". Most Carthians make their haven in Southbeach, Mission Bay or the Dogpatch, often times sticking a little away from the water in the more residential blocks of these neighborhoods. However, having only heard of Amon tonight, it's unlikely she knows where his Haven is. Maybe she could ask Greenlief, assuming he was still willing to parlay.Spoiler: Games I am Currently RunningSan Francisco by Night (Vampire the Requiem 2E)

Rachel will not be calling Thomas back as it seemed undignified and besides, she didn't especially want to owe him any more then she already did. Instead she'll call Amon.

The phone rings four times before Amon picks up. He has a husky almost sun burned voice. "This is not a secure line," Amon says flatly and clearly, as if this was how he always picked up the phone.

Re: (IC IV) San Francisco by Night: A Requiem in Fog
Karl glances at Anna and gives a short nod of acknowledgement, "Greetings. Its all been quiet here, though I suspect spotters from Nova to show up at some point. There are three entries to manage. The main entrance, a side one via the boiler room, and the cargo area in back. Given that this is supposed to be the Prince having a clandestine meeting, I suggest we stage our decoy and his escort entering via the last one."
"What I'm less sure of is whether to basically roll out the red carpet and try to lure Nova in the same way, or post visible guards there and try to convince her to be sneaky and go in the side. Need a better look at the interior to have an idea of which would be more tactically sound. Shall we?""No man is an island, entire of itself, every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main... Re: (IC IV) San Francisco by Night: A Requiem in Fog
Karl and Anna get to work. Soon enough, the others start arriving, and are good enough to follow orders from Julian to Victor to Gabe.
(OOC: I'm okay with Rachel showing up now as well so that we can keep things moving if that's helpful)
As they are working, the group gets a message from Tony, asking when they will be ready.
Spoiler: OOCSo I think what we will do here, is let's ask for one final summary of the plan. Each character is going to roll Wits + Intelligence (including the three above NPCs). For every three successes there will be a combat bonus modifier. Each character will be able to add this bonus once to a roll during the final combat.
So for example, we get six successes, the modifier will be +2.
Also, feel free to Roleplay if there is anything we want to explore

"What the ****," Amon says, his voice a slightly higher pitch than Rachel would have expected. "Busy tonight? Look, whoever you are, if you want something from me, if you want to meet me, why don't you tell me who the **** you are." Based on the fact that he doesn't reply, it's probably safe to assume that this is indeed Amon.

Re: (IC IV) San Francisco by Night: A Requiem in Fog
For a moment Rachel considers offering Amon another name. Was there anyone in the Circle that she was willing to send Amon towards if this actually went well? But in the end, how many English vampires were there in San Francisco anyway? 'My name is Rachel, and I'd be very surprised if you've heard of me. I've been asked to see if you'd like to help us **** over the Lancea at some point soon. I've heard you might be the man to talk to. Am I wrong?'

Got it. This would be one of those times when I've been relying on my memory of what the merit does rather then rereading
Let me know if you want a roll for below.
So much for anonymity. This would make things harder. Aloud she'll say, 'I had no idea anyone was paying attention to me. If you must know I go where my Primogen wants me. I'm been counting working with those two as consultency work and will be very surprised if it leads to anything permanent. This is Circle business.'

Re: (IC IV) San Francisco by Night: A Requiem in Fog
"I see...," Amon says slowly, his voice trailing off, "and what is it you expect of me?"
Spoiler: OOCI would suggest that if you did want to turn this into an intimidation roll... which might be a bit "past" based on how you are now playing this, Rachel relying on status would count. I suppose the roll will simply depend on what you see Rachel's approach is here to getting the information she wants. If she's pulling rank and using intimidation, I could see the merit and possibly status merit adding a benefit.Spoiler: Games I am Currently RunningSan Francisco by Night (Vampire the Requiem 2E)

Re: (IC IV) San Francisco by Night: A Requiem in Fog
"Tonight?" Amon asks, intrigue dripping from the question, "It must be rather time sensitive then..." The vampire's voice trails off, but when he speaks again, his question is sharp as a razor, "Tell me then Rachel, why should I meet you in the middle of the night, if things are so time sensitive?"
Spoiler: OOCThis seems currently like a Presence/Manipulation + Persuasion roll since Rachel hasn't lied in any way yet. However, based on how IC time has played out, I don't think Rachel has time to meet with Amon in person before things go down. The other IC scene is happening less than an hour after the group splits up.
So I'd say you will need a few successes to convince him to meet "NOW".Spoiler: Games I am Currently RunningSan Francisco by Night (Vampire the Requiem 2E)

Re: (IC IV) San Francisco by Night: A Requiem in Fog
'Because I'm told there is an interest in going after certain parts of the Spear while the Prince is still out of town and that you might be able to help us out with that. We are not interested in trying to make a play and failing. If you're curious about the timing, have you met Mother Blackstar? Would you get in her way of doing whatever she feels like? For more information you would need to meet with my colleagues. That is, if you don't have anything better to do tonight?' Rachel says the last sentence with polite curiousity.
Spoiler: ooc
I never needed to meet him. I just need to get him away from Nova to make the ambush easier. Let me know if I'm missing anything.
Manipulation + Subterfuge is 7 with Rachel's misdirection speciality. It would only be 6 dice with persuaion if you need to knock a dice off the roll.

Karl nods to Rachel as she arrives, "Right then, we'll have our bait enter through the cargo area, seal off the other entries from the inside, but make sure they can be opened for a quick escape if things go sour. There should be construction materials and rubble we can use to limit the paths they take. I'd suggest having a couple of people play the part of the Prince's detail doing a little defensive action, firing at the intruders a few times before retreating to draw them further in. Set the claymore where we're most likely to see them congregate. Once it goes off we'll move on them and clean up."
