Re: (3.5 OOC) End of Fate
I've got a potential idea, but need to know some info about the room. How far is it across from one side to the other?
And did there seem to be a particular trigger that caused the doors to disappear earlier?Jasnah avatar by Zea Mays

Re: (3.5 OOC) End of Fate
I wouldn't leave him behind, so would try to hold the door up/open long enough for Maynard to catch up.

Re: (3.5 OOC) End of Fate
Well, we could try that, I suspect these things close with a fair bit of force.
I forget whether I explained why I picked up those rocks earlier; to wit -> in theory I *might* be able to throw a rock at an ally and then use my block for an ally ability to get next to them very quickly to block the rock I threw; it's unclear what the limits are on it aside from my movement speed. I think it's like a fast movement ability, but whether it could function more like a teleport, or whether I can use it to say get up a tree my ally is in or somesuch. It's also no tclear the ability would work on thrown attack against an ally rather than a hostile attack, as these are special empowered abilities after all.
For that matter, if it waits until we're both in, we could just have me walk in, then you teleport in and we rush the door together. But how do we know the next door would even be openable? I wouldn't expect each door to be openable until its guardians have been defeated, or else one of us could just try to go through and force the doors open.
we could both ready actions to leave the room the way we came as soon as we enter it, both walk into it then go righ tback to the previous room as the rooms are shifting; no idea what that would leave us with. probably stuck somewhere until the rooms adjust again.A neat custom class for 3.5 system

Re: (3.5 OOC) End of Fate
I would say the weight would be pretty intense like a dc 30 strength check minimum
Id say you can cover up to half your movement speed on a shield other command it be kinda supernatural. Not teleport to them level just you moving beyond ordinary means to protect them. It does wait until your both in yes. I would just say having one person try to go to the next floor or open the next floor before clearing the trail is very dangerous lolSpoiler: Avatar’s picture

Fair. Zeflin, do you want to gamble on trying to cheat, or just do this the regular way?

Re: (3.5 OOC) End of Fate
I'm willing to gamble, I'm still unclear about exactly how the doors are; are they like, open before they get submerged into the walls? or closed but pushable? or what? It occurs to me that it says the doors lead down, which you wouldn't be able to tell if they were fully closed, but they could be mostly closed, or have some glass or something.

Re: (3.5 OOC) End of Fate
Hmm trying to think of a way of saying it lol The doors passage way sinks into the ground and is replaced by a stone wall. Think of a sliding door but not left and right more up and down like an elevator. The doorway itself it slightly in a corridor at an angle indicating its direction. I hope that helps?

Re: (3.5 OOC) End of Fate
I still don't quite get it.
I guess the main thing is if one ran into it, is it clear one gets to some sort of next room as is (ie does there exist a path), or is the path fully and obviously blocked at some point until something moves sufficiently.A neat custom class for 3.5 system

Re: (3.5 OOC) End of Fate
I'm not quite sure what your asking lol
If you charge at it behind the door is a corridor and staircase leading down from what you have seem so far you are aware it does keep going on.
Currently the door is closed your unsure if it's locked or not. But you feel pretty confident that the pathway continues.
As for being blocked the doorway just sinks into the floor and is replaced by a stone wall. But whenever you cleared the room the doorway returned.
Hopefully that answers your question this time wish I could just make the diagram in my head appear on paper for yaSpoiler: Avatar’s picture

Re: (3.5 OOC) End of Fate
ok, so even if we tried to bypass it, there's considerable doubt/uncertainty as to the extent we could get the door open enough to continue. That makes it seem awfully risky to try a bypass. thoughts detess?
edit: oh, I see IC action has been taken, well I'll support that plan then ofc.Last edited by zlefin; 2024-05-10 at 09:25 AM.

Re: (3.5 OOC) End of Fate
If there's space to fit us both in I'll try to support the forcing open the door effort. that said I don't think I have the str to pull it off. As to the larger question, I'll support whatever their play is, if they wanna back out into the room, I'll do that, if they want to try being stuck in the small space and hope it leads somewhere, i'll join (as long as there's space enoug hto fit us both in there)
makg a str check

If you entered the room in attempt to open the door with them the doors sink into the floor if not you you need a reflex save of at least 10 to enter into the room before the doors sink into the floor trapping detess inside to solo. Unless your trying to break the now stone wall from the outside?Spoiler: Avatar’s picture

Re: (3.5 OOC) End of Fate
I don't understand, I was already in the room; as per the stated plan it was me in the room next to the door, then her suddenly being in the room with jaunt and us being both next to it so we could potentially go through together.

Re: (3.5 OOC) End of Fate
I'm halfway tempted to just have B. open it at this point (I just remembered she has an actual Strength score!), but that would feel weird (emotionally speaking, she's kinda attached to her healy hands), hence my hesitation.
Tbh I'm surprised you guys just didn't apply like 10 bags of powder to keep the area from disapating

Re: (3.5 OOC) End of Fate
I'm unsure that's possible lol also I think your still full from the umbrella that's probably not digestible lol
Lastly whomever wants to open the cellar first sees a dark rank smelling cellar with a small hall leading deeper down. Potentially your glow stick friend is enough to see that nobody is down there.Spoiler: Avatar’s picture

Is there anything you need from us in ic B? I think we did our actions and our waiting to see what fate befalls us.

Re: (3.5 OOC) End of Fate
Porky can explicitly "digest almost anything"! Are you really going to draw the line at a pesky door, let alone a demonically infused umbrella?
your glow stick friendHumanAasimar Torch-equivalent light source's good to oblige!! But that's kinda dependednt on the door getting opened at last. Maybe it's time for Gerald to roll his eyes and grump about these damn kids these damn days, but open it for them anyway?

Re: (3.5 OOC) End of Fate
well, if we can't get the door open then I guess there's no choice but to fight.
going after those rod ones, as I still don't trust those rods; I figure the shield ones have built-in weapons which will be apparent soon enough.
