Interrogating a dead person
Hi there! During our last session we've come across a little dilemma: we need to interrogate a dead NPC we just fought, but his body exploded as part of their death (we tried to prevent it, but they were crazy cultist with kamikaze abilities). We can access any 3.5 or 3.p material freely and after thinking about it a lot we could not come up with a solution.
1. We can know the name with blood biography and then call spirit, but they can avoid answering
2. If we can fix the body we can speak with dead, but I'm not sure there's something that helps us here
3. Any creative idea is fine, we have a last resort possibility of going planar binding, but we're not 100% sure it's going to work so we're looking for more options
Thanks!

Can't Make Whole put the corpse back together if you manage to get all bits within range?

just because he's an enemy doesn't mean he's not willing to come back

Re: Interrogating a dead person
Yeah, my "order of operations" usually goes about...
- Speak with Dead - not really an option in this case, because exploded
- Make Whole + Speak with Dead - sounds like a winner.
- Miracle + Speak with Dead - God can put Humpty Dumpty back together again.
- Simulacrum - expensive, and not 100% of all memories - only worth doing if you want a lot of Simulacra of this thing anyway.
- Teleport Through Time (+ Scry&Fry + Speak with Dead, or + Diplomancy, or + Whatever) - He wasn't always dead and exploded...

Don't forget:
6. Come up with some other way to get the information that doesn't involve this particular cultist.Time travels in divers paces with divers persons.

Re: Interrogating a dead person
Naw, that would be quitting, and Ma Quertus didn’t raise no quitters*. And, as we all know, “Quitters never win”.
So even if the GM just gives you the information, don’t quit! Keep going until you complete your quest to get the information out of this cultist. Build good habits! Be a winner!
* ‘cause she was dead - yes, my signature academia mage grew up a ward of the state.
