Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
I could work that, though honestly, I don't think anyone really compares to your strategy outside of the more advanced Total War players, and Strategy Gamers.
It's kinda scary actually, but that doesn't matter.
How realistic would you rank "Attack Bears", or "Sharks with friggin laser beams attached to their heads."? :smallwink::smalltongue:
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
Not particularly realistic. :smalltongue:
I'd probably GM at least the first game, if we have interest.

What? Really? :smallwink::smalltongue:
I was joking, of course, to establish realism you'd have to set up an era.

Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
Well, the players would have input on that. My personal vote would go for science-fiction, in general. We don't want to be overly limiting on army choices, and scifi should allow plenty of freedom without the problems 'magical medieval' would have in determining the relative strengths of the deployments. 'Modern' or any other historical era on the other hand would leave relatively little to choose from.

Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
Reserve a spot for me. Still trying to figure ou whether I want an army of headbanger skeletons lead by a single monolith like drum set pounded upon by a behemoth skeleton of rock or a squadron of necromancers who cast magic and use powers via there electric guitars (In various shapes such as scythes.) and then there are the ninja robot zombies I have pushed to the back of my list.
Decisions decisions.....

Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
I could do armies, murska. Sci-fi is a safe pick, since balancing out magical ability gives me a headache.
Also, vizard Ichigo'd own Gilgamesh. Even I, a Gil fanboy, know that. He's too damn fast.
But yeah, Heros and Army versions'd both be fun. Sign me up for whichever comes first. Maybe both depending on time.

Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
I'd just like to sign up to any of these that turn up.
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
I'd like to sign up for one sometime, if at all possible.
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
Put me on that sign up list too.
EDIT: Actually, don't. Still, awesome game you've got there.
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
I will join if there's a spot left
...but there probably isn't and I'm embarassing myself

Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
Okay gents and ladies! I've decided to dabble in running an Insanowar!
I'll be taking the first four applicants for a variant map:
Explanation of the picture and rules:
-Each base has a main gate, side gate, a tower (the dark outlined sections), and tall, thick walls.
-The field is a desolate wasteland strewn with weeds and rocks- both big and small.
-In the center of the field is a lake (blue area). On that lake is a verdant island (green area). On top of the island is a tower (grey rectangle w/ 2 gates). Within the tower is an artifact (the purple circle).
-Below the tower and the lake is a series of tunnels (dark brown area), four to be precise, which converge into a large chamber under the central tower. The tunnels are strong and deep enough not to leak naturally, but with the right amount of damage could be collapsed/filled with water. Each tunnel opens into a cave big enough for medium sized troops to enter (black circles)
-The artifact in the central tower has the power to grant the wielder one of the following:
1. Restore one unit to full strength (numbers-wise). This can only be used on a group.
2. Increase one individual's power to 110% for one turn.
3. Summon 5~15 random Special Infected, chosen by me, 5 each summoned within any living opponents bases. You control them for 1 turn, then they go random, attacking who/whatever they can before death.
Once you use the artifact, it disappears and is returned to the central island, and you cannot use it again. Once all 4 players have used it, the central tower, lake AND tunnels are destroyed, taking any units within with them.
We'll start when we get 4 players, and end when the first person to win does so.

Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
Ooh! Ooh! me! I yell, raising my hands into the air and waving them wildly. Can I have the yellow base of awesome yellowness? please?
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
Seeing as the special infected are supposed to be artifact worthy units this seems like an average power level game.
Count me in from forever ago.

Yeah, forgot to mention that. Low to average powered characters/units I think.
Fan you want to pick a base color? (and the next two people to sign up do the same)

Red, ironically of course.

Yep. If you want to join mine, pick a base color (blue or green are left).
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
Huh. Can I take Green? (Y'know, provided that it isn't too late, being >2 weeks since that last post)
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
I'll take blue...
(I'm lucky, I just got here.)
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
You know if Rogue Nine still wants to do this. :smalltongue:
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
I'm considering running a variant myself.....
You will need Word to view the map though... And you can make your own factions...
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
I'd like to sign up for whatever Insanowar still needs room for players, if any. Or a replacement if someone vanishes and still has an army. Or one that starts because there are enough people interested at the time. I'm not really picky.
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
Maybe if we ever have another Insanowar. I could think of possibly joining as well.
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
Yeah, if another insanowar happened, I'd certainly be interested... I don't think ones run for a while... but maybe if we get enough interest.... just maybe...
(I mean, running an insanowar isn't very much harder than playing it...(All you have to do is come up with a map, right?))
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
Four is enough to play, right?:smallwink:
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
Four players would be barely enough, but then we also need a GM. Though I'm pretty certain that once a GM posts a recruitment thread, there's going to be more applicants.
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
Well then, if you do, I'd certainly play.
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
As would I. Though maybe not in the next four or five days; my internet has been spotty
