Sorry for not posting recently and not reporting an absence; I was recently seeing family and the flight back is arriving soon. I will post in the next twenty-four hours.
Hey, there's no mad rush mate, just wanted to check in and know you're still with us. Jakkari is the stable nucleus around which the rest of the wrestle with their various traumas/prejudices/fears/hesitancies.

I thought Marion was presenting a supportive front to hide how irked she was. The description of her reaction made her seem like she was celebrating gently and remaining composed instead of wildly showering Mor'Lag with alcohol.

Haha. To split a hair, I think Marion was being insincere - she thinks it's ridiculous that an ogre won a beauty contest - but she's not being sarcastic. That is to say, she's feigning sincerity for Mor'Lag's benefit, not parodying it to mock her. That said, given Mor'Lag's melancholy, I think it's easy to imagine that she took Marion's words to be mockery. We have a tendency to hear validations of our own self-image, after all.

Honestly, I wonder how Isaera would react to that news when she finds out.
Just checking in, is there an estimate on the next update? If anyone is hesitant to post due to concern over cutting anyone off we can coordinate and work around it. I can push the scene forward if no one feels there is anything left to do in this scene within the tent.

Just to make sure it's 100% clear, Windstruck, this is not me, BananaPhone the player, having a go at you/Isaera.
Isaera's "dismissal" of Marion earlier when she came to comfort her when she thought she was in distress, was quite hurtful to her. That's why she came back to the tent in a huff and started drinking, because she was rather wounded over being dismissed/overlooked like a servant.
Just letting you know, this is 100% role play reaction, not me the player trying to be a drama llama :smalltongue:.

Maybe one day Marion will realize that the world doesn't revolve around her!
If someone is suspicious of Roshorn I certainly wouldn't mind a quick investigation such as asking the other chapter next door or trying to pickpocket something off of him. Jakk'ari isn't going to be skeptical since he is sympathetic to Roshorn who is another shaman claiming to help his own tribal community like Jakk'ari.
Marion is going to Take 10 on a Knowledge (Magic - Fel) to give Emilia some parting advice in regards to facing the demons and the legion. That will give her a total of 24, which, for a PL 5 game, should be some pretty stellar advice that comes in handy at some point.

There's room for a little more back and forth if anyone wants it, but otherwise we're about ready to send them out on their next opportunity to provoke fate. But before we do that, it feels like a thousand years ago now, but we were rebuilding characters and I'm not sure if we completed that or not. If I make a new OOC (We're just about due anyway), everyone can reserve a spot at the top for their characters and we can get those all square and set for when we start rolling dice again.
That sounds like a good idea. Maybe update the character build rules, amount of PP we have?
I think Marions current build is on Page 38, down the bottom. She's got spells and stuff as well as a gun.
I would like to retool Jakk'ari a bit, I don't think I revised him every time additional Power Points were rewarded. I just need to know how many PowerPoints are available.
I have already updated Isaera's sheet.. which is more like a collection of spoilers. Seems like it was quite a long time ago, but the game has been moving pretty slowly...
The game has been going slowly. I think a way to pick up the pace a bit would be to have a high intensity session, where we schedule a post to be made once an hour for four hours or so on the weekend or the game could be done through a voice chat without fonts and colored text.
I really don't voice chat, and given we are split between hemispheres, syncing a time to meet up seems unlikely, but I do still like this game and hope to continue. We hit the two year mark recently, iirc, and no need to stop!Quote:

I appreciate the suggestions Plaids; honestly I'm forever grateful that you guys are having fun enough that a game with a languid pace still holds your interests at all! I play games by voice chat sometimes, but I don't think I'd want to for this one mostly because the written record of everything is useful for referring back, because scheduling across timezones is a nightmare, and somewhat selfishly, I use games like this that I run as way to work on my writing since I still harbour delusions of writing something worth publishing one day.
But I'm sure we can get back into a rhythm and regularity anyway. I'll put up a new OOC now, if you guys want to plug in placeholder posts for your character sheets and transfer/tinker with them there. I'll move the scene along when I post in the IC tomorrow!

Forum game formats remove the need for a lot of note taking which can be a big advantage.
