Re: OOC Rise of the Grand Admiral
Oh, I was waiting for samduke (or Harmony, if they're still even playing) since I acted last.

No need, you can post your turn now.

Current situation at the top of the steps is you can see into two bedrooms, with windows leading to a second story balcony, with droids on the balcony, though they are currently out of line of sight (camped next to the windows).
ahh where I had posted the post prior I was waiting to see what others were doing.. lol

I never did get an answer to my grenade question?

That’s bc the licensing check failed, but you can get as many as you can afford.
Have you used the free +12 check from your Jedi handler?
-
Re: OOC Rise of the Grand Admiral
Wait, that was a +12 to roll with.
I thought it was a result of 12, hence not trying to buy anything.

No, it's a +12 modifier. You roll 1d20+12 (or take 10), sorry I wasn't clearer about that.
Feel free to make the roll now if you like. Just let me know what you're purchasing and make sure you deduct the credits & license cost.
-
Re: OOC Rise of the Grand Admiral
In that case take 10 for 22, Frag Grenades are Military so 20 credits for the license, 200 each, 620 credits for 3.
Oh and I'll get some replacement Flash canisters too.
Oh and I've edited my IC post

I rolled this previsouly.. so add +12 as appropriate

for the only 2 things I asked about that need a license
Grenades - how many can I get, if I can?
Range 0-6,7-8,9-10,11-12
Frag Grenade - Military 200 Cr ea.
License Check (1d20)[2] + <skills I rolled above>
gather information (1d20+6)[15]
perception (1d20+6)[24]
use computer (1d20+7)[26]
knowledge (galatic lore) (1d20+12)[20]
Ion Grenade - Restricted 250 Cr ea.
License Check (1d20)[17] + <skills Below>
gather information (1d20+6)[10]
perception (1d20+6)[19]
use computer (1d20+7)[15]
knowledge (galatic lore) (1d20+12)[25]
I had thought about thermal detonators but they are listed as illegal and I did not want to roll black market for them as I did not think the DC was within reason.
well my 4,475 credits say I can afford a few
presuming it still fails the frag grenades license, but passes the ion grenades license
the ion grenades license I believe is 25 Cr,
I would buy 1,250 Cr worth or ( 5 Ion Grenades )
if I can buy frag grenades without a license I would get 1,000 Cr worth or ( 5 frag grenades )
will wait on gm to give the results of the modified checks.
reducing my Credits to 2,200 - for all purchases on gm's approval

I'm not sure why you made so many rolls. Licensing check is knowledge bureaucracy, unless you want to try black market, which has repercussions if you fail by too much. Next time just make one roll.
You can use your own check for the Ion grenades and the Jedi's +12 to auto-succeed for the frags. Don't forget to pay the license fee.
-
Re: OOC Rise of the Grand Admiral
i do not have knowledge bureaucracy, as far as I am aware to make that check I need it trained. but okay I will deduct the 20CR for the frag license as well and add to my sheet

Re: OOC Rise of the Grand Admiral
Apologies for the delay, swamped with work. Will try to get a post up tomorrow or the day after.

Re: OOC Rise of the Grand Admiral
It’s Coralej’s turn. The ion blast is not enough to take out the b2.

fair, though i imagine its hurt.. lol

Re: OOC Rise of the Grand Admiral
Probably not that much, Ion damage is halved for all purposes other than Damage Threshold, it's mostly good for taking enemies out via the Condition Track, since it moves them 2 steps at once if it beats the threshold, or for non-lethal (is that even the right phrase for droids?) take downs.
It's basically stun damage for droids.

The nearest point between the two balconies is about 60’. There is a small alley and another balcony between you.
@samduke too far for grenade. You’ll have to get closer or use blaster.

I edited that IC post I guess 12 squares is not 60ft... even though the info I see says
Combat is carried out on a grid, in which each square equals 1.5 meters (about 5 feet).
(lobs grenade , does not need to be accurate just needs to get there ... bounce... boom!) <- commentary only

The nearest point between the balconies is 60’, but you are by the window, not by the edge, and so is the droid, so it’s about 80-90’ away.

Re: OOC Rise of the Grand Admiral
Maybe I’m not describing this clearly enough. There’s three buildings, and they all have 40’ long balconies. There is a 10’ street / alley between each building. You’re on the left most balcony. The droidekas are on the far right balcony. The 501st is attempting to fight their way up the steps of the far right building.
I know this would all be solved with a combat map, but I don’t have time to update one regularly.

Down to 2 looks like. It’s ok, I have a third ready once this mission is over.
Stairs do not continue up, thought there might be an attic somewhere if you want to spend time looking for it.

Re: OOC Rise of the Grand Admiral
How far from this balcony to the droids?

20’ to the end of your balcony, 10’ across the alley, and another 20’ to the droids. The droids are 10’ away from one another.
So 50’ from where you are, and if you move to the edge of your balcony, you can get to within 30’.

Re: OOC Rise of the Grand Admiral
Let me know if you want to spend a Force point on that move object roll.
-
Re: OOC Rise of the Grand Admiral
Oh I didn't think you could do that after you roll, I'll do that then.

Normally no, but I'm playing fast and loose with the rules for this combat.

Re: OOC Rise of the Grand Admiral
That gives me an extra 1d6 right?
