New comic is up.
Thanks, Giant!
Now the bloody paladins are going to get involved.
Does Bloodfeast retain his full extremeinator HP in the polymorphic form?
It seems that the fight is not so easily ended.
And yes, I hope it will allow the paladins to become involved again.
To quote the SRD
"If the subject remains in the new form for 24 consecutive hours, it must attempt a Will save. If this save fails, it loses its ability to understand language, as well as all other memories of its previous form, and its Hit Dice and hit points change to match an average creature of its new form. These abilities and statistics return to normal if the effect is later ended."
Not sure if the clock restarts because BF The EX returned to true form for a round or 4(?), but I imagine whatever is good for the plot will happen.
Also, did not expect the Baleful Polymorph to reassert itself after the ray was turned off.
And again, Thank you Giant!
He shoots, he scores!
0. One wonders if Calder has racketball or handball as a hobby back in the day ...
1. Love gnaw gnaw gnaw in the last panel.
2. Why is Sunny's eye closed as he bonks along on the floor? (Caution taught to him by Serini when his lens isn't in?)
3. Aah, the paladins are back.
4. For DavidSh: Yes, Paladin's still have lay on hands as a class feature.
5. I noticed Sunny's lens lying on the floor.
6. Serini is talking; what other actions has she been taking, I wonder?
7. Sunny appears to be unconscious in the second to last panel. Or is that still "eye closed due to no lens" caution?
8. Thank you Giant.
That was countered more anticlimactically than I expected.
Thankfully the paladins can lay on hands, so Sunny will most likely be coming back soon with the cavalry on their back (head?).
Oh... and what would happen about the stasis trap now that it is no longer supressed ???
Related question : was it already "not-suppressed" when the beam was centered on Calder Torso ?
That's one hell of a lot harder hit than i thought on the first panel of it. Also, are the paladins going to hitch a ride on Sunny? I think the paladins are totally going to hitch a ride up on Sunny.
Serini hasn't acted in this battle yet. I think that's about to change. Oh Calder, you think a dragon is powerful? Wait until you see a mother watching her child die, when that mother is an epic level rogue. The question isn't really whether or not she's going to kill you, the question is how much pain she'll inflict on the way.
Now, if Calder kills Bloodfeast, does that result in the corpse of an allosaurus? Which could be resurrected after the battle?
I was prepared to lose Belkar, but it turns out I am not at all prepared to lose Bloodfeast. Please pull through, little king.
edit: also, 'splank!' is delightful
V is prepping to down a potion as Sunny bounces past. Anyone know what that green potion is likely to be? Healing potions are red, right?
I think I see what's going to happen.
Sunny is going to convey O Chul and Lian into the battle, and Serini is going to learn that these Paladins are not quite as Lawful Stupid as Soon. This will enhance trust of the Order both in terms of "able to face Xykon" and also "Hey, these people aren't stupid".
Congrats on reaching another 100!
I'm very worried for Bloodfeast. Especially after this big full-size action scene, I can't imagine he will do a similar full-size action scene against Xykon. I hope that's because he retires and lives happily ever after.
Where is Mimi?
Gnaw Gnaw Gnaw
I still believe in you, Bloodfeast! Never give up!
Even if Calder ignores large reptile solidarity and burns/eats Bloodfeast, I think the dino will be fine with all his HP. The Order might become more willing to cut Calder open, though.
I feel like logically the paladins should just heal Sunny and rejoin the group, but narratively this feels like a reason to split them from the party. It is reaching the point where there are too many people to give focus to.
I think the cracks in the floor Calder's back made on impact have damaged the stasis circle enough that it's now non-functional.
I also love the "gnaw gnaw gnaw" in the last panel.
Sunny appears to be unconscious, since all nine eyes are closed and it's not floating any more. But I fully expect the paladins to get it back into shape, and Sunny in turn can get them into the battle. Where they can revise Serini's opinion of them.
Thanks, Giant!
:smallbiggrin::smallbiggrin::smallbiggrin:
And all told, Calder isn't even looking that much worse for the wear. Not good for the party. He looks hungry for dino nuggets, too.
